Founded in 1830 to collect, preserve, interpret and disseminate Indiana history, the Indiana Historical Society moved to its headquarters in 1999. Since its opening, Indiana's new home for history has been a premier venue for special events in the Indianapolis area. The building's elegance, classic decor and location along the scenic Central Canal make it an ideal year-round location for your wedding, social event. With various rental spaces, the IHS is also able to accommodate meetings and seminars of many sizes.

"The City of Indianapolis should be very proud of the Indiana Historical Society, and we highly recommend the Historical Society for any type of meeting, party, reception, etc."
-Judith A. Muhl, The Health Foundation of Indianapolis
