You Are There: 1945
Hoosier Home Front
Step back in time through a historic photograph to January 1945. In
this re-created grocery store setting, costumed interpreters share
details of everyday life during World War II.
Destination Indiana
Send your students on a time-travel journey through IHS's vast collection
of historical photographs and documents.
W. Brooks and Wanda Y. Fortune History Lab
Don a lab coat and participate in a hands-on paper mending activity.
INvestigation Stations
Grab a personal research log and do some detective work to investigate
clues, ask questions and record conclusions about people, places and
events of the past.
Don't miss these new experiences!
Group visits are available through Jan. 2, 2009. Group visits include
reserved time in the History Lab; the You Are There interpretive experience;
the Destination Indiana experience; INvestigation Station activities;
a World War II-themed session of the teachers' choice (experiences
tied to academic standards); World War II crafts and activities for
younger students; and group guides to assist throughout the visit.
Group visit hours are Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Advance reservations are required for groups of 15 or more. Cost is
$2 per student;; no fees for adult chaperones.

The
Faces of Lincoln This changing exhibition gallery showcases items
from the IHS's extensive Lincoln collections. Group tours are available
through Jan. 2, 2009, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free
